Our Mission:
Phi Sigma Kappa Properties looks to the long-term success of Phi Sigma Kappa through responsible management and growth of property assets for the benefit of all brothers - past, present and future.
Origination and History:
In 2001, the Fraternity's Grand Council identified a potential need for Phi Sigma Kappa to create a national housing corporation. The Grand Council appointed a committee to explore the feasibility and value of such an organization. The committee returned with the recommendation that a national housing corporation would be a valuable asset to the Fraternity.
Based on these results, brothers Bud Berman (Swarthmore '62), Jim Schmitz (UC/Santa Barbara '80) and Glenn Roby (Northern Illinois '91) worked together to form an organization that could acquire, maintain, improve and manage chapter houses. The groundwork for the organization was laid and in November of 2002, Phi Sigma Kappa Properties was officially incorporated. Bud, Jim and Glenn became the first directors of the organization and Glenn Roby was appointed as the organization's first President. Another brother who was integral to the organization's formation was Matt Van Wie (Marian College '01). While serving as Director of Finance and Administration for the Grand Chapter, Matt assisted the founders with the creation of PSKP and helped manage the organization's day to day operations in its early years.
Relationship with the Fraternity:
Phi Sigma Kappa Properties collaborates with both the Grand Chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa and the Phi Sigma Kappa Foundation and will work closely with these organizations whenever it is in the best interest of the Fraternity to do so. However, Phi Sigma Kappa Properties, Inc., is a separate entity from the Grand Chapter and Foundation. Each organization is a distinct, separate corporation with independent boards of directors, investment accounts, and independently audited financial statements.
PSK Properties is financially self-sustaining and does not receive any revenue by way of membership dues paid to the Grand Chapter or donations made to the Foundation. Properties is incorporated and operated under a non-profit/non-stock structure and is run by a fully volunteer Board of Directors.
Chapter Houses and Relationships:
Phi Sigma Kappa Properties curently owns and manages the chapter house at Arizona State University.
The Arizona State property was acquired in 2003. PSKP is currently working together with the owners of eight fraternity properties at ASU to redevelop the Greek row. The development project, known as the Threshold Project, will include the construction of new fraternity lodges combined with apartment style housing, retail, restaurant and entertainment space, a hotel and conference center and a student recreation facility. Recently we completed a land swap with the university, which combines the currently spread-out fraternity parcels into a continuous parcel for redevelopment. The site itself will be located at a major intersection of the ASU campus.

PSKP leases a property at Indiana University from the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity and subleases it to the Sigma Triton Alumni Housing Corporation of Phi Sigma Kappa. We have a strong working relationship with the Sigma Triton Housing Corporation, and together both groups are seeking a permanent home for our chapter at Indiana University.

In 2009 PSKP began providing a short-term loan to the Alpha Deuteron housing corporation at the University of Illinois to make needed improvements to the property. The property is being leased to Alpha Xi Delta Sorority until Phi Sigma Kappa re-charters at Illinois.
Since 2005 PSKP has provided a short-term loan to the Grand Chapter to help support the Alpha chapter house at the University of Massachusetts. The house is owned and operated by the Grand Chapter in conjuction with the Alpha alumni association and housed the Alpha Chapter since 1910.
In addition to these three sites, PSKP also has a working relationship with the Sigma Tau Chapter at Missouri Western University.
